Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Rehabilitation Department. As a member of our healthcare team, you will assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the rehabilitation of inpatients and outpatients with various disabling conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, including assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Provide clerical and reception support in the Rehabilitation Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of equipment, such as wheelchairs and ADL equipment.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems, including InfoMed and MediTech.
Requirements
  • Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant from a recognized community college.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of good physical body mechanics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant in a healthcare setting within the last two years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
