About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Knowles Centre. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting youth and young adults in achieving their goals and developing essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and role model essential life skills for independent living, including budgeting, household management, meal planning, and self-care.
  • Assist with achieving educational and/or employment goals, obtaining housing and housing supports, and developing safety plans.
  • Offer opportunities for engaging and practical learning experiences aligned with the individual's case plan.
  • Cultivate positive connections and rapport with youth and young adults, aiding in the recognition of their strengths to foster personal development and self-esteem.
  • Produce thorough and accurate documentation, including case notes and reports.
  • Participate in monthly group programming and support family and cultural/spiritual connections.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Gr.12, Diploma/degree in Community Support Worker, Child and Youth Care, Addictions and Community Service, or relevant post-secondary education.
  • Respectful of cultural diversity and knowledge of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs, and beliefs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and supportive counselling skills, with experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable youth and young adults.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and in a team environment.
  • Valid class 5 Manitoba Driver's license and daily use of a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
