Senior Mechanical Engineer

Torus Talent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team in the potash mining and processing industry.
Job Summary:We are looking for a mechanical engineer with expertise in designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems for potash mining and processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sectors, and experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and analyze mechanical systems for potash mining and processing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Select and size equipment such as pumps, conveyors, and compressors, taking into account the specific requirements of the project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers based in Mexico, overseeing production and quality assurance.
- Conduct site visits in the USA and Mexico to supervise installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical expertise to project teams and management, offering innovative solutions for improving efficiency and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in mining or processing environments.
- Ability to travel to Mexico and the USA as required.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred but not mandatory.
