Project Coordinator for Oncology Initiatives

Groom & Associates is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to enhance patient experiences within oncology care. This role is pivotal in developing a sustainable model that integrates patient-reported outcomes into standard clinical practices. The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in coordinating various project activities while also providing essential training and support to healthcare professionals. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a program that significantly impacts patient well-being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee project and program activities, collaborating with sponsors, committees, and teams to implement and track tasks, milestones, and budgets;
  2. Offer training and support to healthcare providers and patients utilizing the Distress Screening program;
  3. Identify improvement opportunities by evaluating feedback from patients and clinicians, as well as addressing process challenges;
  4. Develop and refine presentations, educational materials, and clinical decision aids by gathering information and synthesizing existing resources;
  5. Create reports for various committees, including the Quality Improvement committee within the oncology clinic;
  6. Prepare response trajectories and other metrics aligned with the MSSS Action Plan in Cancerology regarding Patient Reported Outcomes Measures;
  7. Assist in establishing and monitoring performance indicators in collaboration with internal departments such as Informatics and other clinical programs;
  8. Conduct literature reviews, guideline scans, and environmental assessments using various bibliographic databases;
  9. Collaborate with researchers and clinical teams to prepare posters and abstracts for publication;
  10. Engage in cross-functional tasks and additional responsibilities within the Division of Clinical Programs and Quality Initiatives as necessary;
  11. Support the clinical team on-site for Patient Reported Outcomes activities, ensuring systems are operational and providing assistance to team members;
  12. Generate reports on Patient Reported Outcomes as required, sharing statistical insights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Exceptional communication skills;
  2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (health sciences, health services research, health administration) or equivalent experience;
  3. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  4. Familiarity with MS Access, Visio, and SharePoint is advantageous;
  5. Moderate capabilities in data analysis and interpretation;
  6. Experience with statistical analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS, or R is a plus;
  7. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail;
  8. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks effectively;
  9. Strong collaborative skills and ability to work as part of a team;
  10. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  11. Demonstrated experience in project coordination;
  12. Knowledge and experience in conducting literature searches, environmental scans, and surveys;
  13. Ability to articulate information in a persuasive written format;
  14. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred;
  15. Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies is a plus.
