Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Support Worker specializing in Brain Injury rehabilitation. This role involves providing essential support to clients, assisting them in achieving their rehabilitation objectives, and facilitating daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in reaching their rehabilitation goals as established by the Rehabilitation Worker.
- Support clients with daily tasks, including meal preparation and housekeeping.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols during all activities, particularly concerning physical assistance and the use of cleaning products.
- Deliver services with professionalism and respect for the client's dignity and privacy.
- Document incidents and maintain accurate behavioral reports.
- Engage in ongoing training and development as required.
- Follow established policies and procedures diligently.
- Provide individualized and group support within community settings for adults with Brain Injury.
- Encourage client participation in rehabilitation activities and planning.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, their families, and team members.
Qualifications:
- Preferred post-secondary education in Human and Social Services; minimum of Grade 12 required.
- Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in work performance.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Effective behavioral management and cognitive problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and rehabilitation practices.
- Capability to provide support in behavioral situations effectively.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
