Position Overview: The City of Brooks is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Parks Maintenance III within the Parks Services Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and upkeep of parks, pathways, sports fields, cemeteries, and related amenities.
  • Utilize various equipment including chainsaws, front-end loaders, mowers, hand tools, bucket trucks, and snow removal machinery.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Level III High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in parks operations, municipal parks, horticulture, golf course management, or landscaping.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with Q-Endorsement.
  • Certificates in Pesticide Applicator, CSA Playground, Fall Protection, Flag Person, Confined Space, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, and Parks & Sport Fields Operator Level 2 are required.
  • Willingness to obtain a Class 3 Driver's License with Q-Endorsement.
  • Clean driver's abstract.
  • Additional certifications in Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques, Confined Space, and Ground Disturbance are considered assets.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
  • The salary range for this position is between $30.26 and $33.15 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with potential shifts during evenings, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
  • Employees will receive a complimentary family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during their employment.
