About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our collaborative care team, you will provide direct, hands-on care based on the needs of our patients and program/unit.

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will work under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals to support patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. You will also reinforce patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time, long-assignment position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.70.
