  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, or supervisors, keeping them informed of their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Order supplies and equipment, ensuring the centre is well-stocked and equipped to meet the needs of our children.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, ensuring a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere within the centre.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, ensuring a cohesive and effective team approach.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
