Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Daycare Supervisor to join our team at Safari Kid. As a key member of our childcare centre, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a clean and organized childcare centre.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records of children's progress and development.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children and contribute to the development of childcare programs.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Organized and efficient with a strong attention to detail.
