Position Overview

The Supply Chain Customer Service Specialist plays a vital role in coordinating with sales, logistics, manufacturing facilities, and production planners to effectively manage and fulfill customer orders. This position requires direct interaction with various clients and territory sales representatives to ensure exceptional customer service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage orders by monitoring, tracking, and updating shipping timelines through various Excel spreadsheets, including a detailed dashboard for daily activities.
  • Maintain proactive communication with both internal teams and external clients regarding order and shipment updates.
  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships, which may involve travel across North America for site visits to better understand client operations, address concerns, and identify potential challenges and solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal departments to facilitate a seamless order process, employing problem-solving skills to expedite processes as necessary using diverse data sources.
  • Navigate a complex supply chain network comprising 12 manufacturing plants and 2 distribution centers.
  • Utilize Excel to generate daily reports for customers.
  • Employ various systems for order entry and to verify customer orders for precision, including load weight, pallet count, and special requirements.
  • Lead projects utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of order entries and reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Capacity to manage a high volume of communications and orders.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations, Inventory Control, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role with direct involvement in order management and customer relations.
  • Practical experience with MS Office, particularly intermediate Excel skills, and strong research capabilities.
  • A strong customer-centric approach and excellent relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience with JDE is considered an asset.
