Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Mentorship Program Coordinator at Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing transitional supports for youth from 16 to 21 years of age who are leaving the care of Child and Family Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized mentorship plans to support the growth and development of youth
  • Facilitate culturally based activities and provide access to community resources to promote holistic well-being
  • Teach life skills, such as budgeting, housing, and healthy relationships, to empower youth to become independent and self-sufficient
  • Recruit and retain participants, address concerns, and provide support to ensure program success
  • Model responsible and positive behavior to promote a safe and supportive environment
  • Ensure traditional knowledge is incorporated into all aspects of the program
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to inform program development and implementation
  • Follow organizational safety protocols and procedures, including transportation of participants as required

Requirements:

  • Relevant post-secondary education or combination of education and experience
  • One to two years' experience working with vulnerable youth
  • A valid Manitoba Driver's License, clear drivers abstract, and reliable transportation
