We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Traumatic Stress Injury Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with traumatic stress injuries, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless services and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients with traumatic stress injuries, adhering to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, directing the work of others and ensuring seamless care transitions.
- Administer medications and treatments, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences, ensuring comprehensive care planning.
- Licensed as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- BScN and CPMHN(C) preferred.
- 2+ years recent experience working with patients with traumatic stress injuries.
- Mental Health Nursing certificate preferred.
- 1 year in Charge Nurse role preferred.
- CPR/Basic rescuer certification.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), and community mental health resources.
- Knowledge of documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPPA).
