Job Title: Treatment Nurse

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Treatment Nurse to join our team at Ontario Healthcare Center. As a Treatment Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents, focusing on skin health and wound care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the Care Planning Team to ensure accurate assessment evaluations and develop effective care plans.
  • Provide primary skin care to residents in accordance with their care plans and current federal, state, and local standards.
  • Check vital signs, dress wounds, and make rounds with physicians as requested.
  • Listen to residents and their families, addressing their questions and concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Document residents' progress notes in an accurate and detailed fashion.
  • Abide by all facility policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and proper hand washing procedures.
  • Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately.
  • Attend annual facility in-service training programs and participate in meetings and committees as required.
  • Complete other assignments as requested, such as backing up LVNs and CNAs.

Requirements:

  • RN Nursing Degree or LVN from an accredited school or college.
  • Valid RN or LVN license in good standing.
  • Valid CPR and BLS card.
  • Minimum of 6 months skilled nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data.

Working Conditions:

  • May encounter frequent interruptions.
  • May be involved with residents, family, and government agencies.
  • May be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at times.
  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions.
  • May be exposed to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoking, or air contaminants.
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
  • May be exposed to or handle hazardous chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Working throughout the nursing areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistance.
  • Ability to read fine print on a tablet, progress notes, and/or medical labels.
