Aviva Canada is seeking a skilled Commercial Auto/Heavy Truck Appraiser to join our team. As a key member of our claims handling process, you will be responsible for assessing repairs and total loss valuations for heavy on-road and off-road vehicles. This includes motorhomes, RVs, commercial use trailers, heavy industrial equipment, heavy trucks, medium-duty trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and ATVs. You will utilize computerized estimating systems to prepare complete, competitive repair estimates and communicate with customers, repair facilities, and claim representatives as needed. Your expertise will be essential in controlling indemnity spend and expenses while delivering superior customer service and accuracy. Key responsibilities include:

* Utilizing computerized estimating systems to prepare repair estimates
* Reviewing appraisals from approved vendors
* Negotiating with repair facilities on repair plans
* Re-inspecting repaired units for quality and cost control
* Evaluating actual cash value and replacement cost value of total loss units
* Adhering to dispatch needs and fulfilling claim investigation and resolution in the field

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Minimum 2-5 years of vehicle damage appraisal and heavy equipment appraisal experience
* Working knowledge of Audatex and Mitchell Estimating System
* Prior appraisal and hands-on shop experience
* Strong computer skills, good communication skills, and a strong team player
