This role involves assessing motor vehicle repair costs and assisting in the adjustment and settlement of automobile physical damage claims. You will be responsible for conducting assessments in an efficient manner to control indemnity spend and expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize automated estimating systems to prepare complete, competitive auto repair estimates.
  • Negotiate with repair facilities on repair plan processes.
  • Re-inspect repaired vehicles for quality of service and cost control measures.
  • Evaluate actual value of vehicles declared a total loss and take proactive steps to control storage and rental vehicle costs.
  • Adhere to dispatch needs and fulfill claim investigation and resolution in the field.
  • Report fraudulent claims to senior supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of vehicle damage appraisal and collision repair industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Mitchell Estimating System.
  • Strong knowledge in motor vehicle repairs, including passenger vehicles.
  • Prior appraiser experience is a must.
