Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to managers and staff in the Finance and Administration area of the Inuvik Regional Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to managers and staff, ensuring the effective functioning of the administration offices.
  • Manage highly confidential and sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Operate within the Government of Northwest Territories' policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records, using ARCS and ORCS systems.
  • Write and proofread documents, ensuring style, form, spelling, and grammar are accurate.
  • Network with resources within and outside the employing Health and Social Services Authority to ensure support for clients and their families.
  • Manage financial information, track and record financial data, and maintain financial documents.
Requirements
  • Equivalent of a two-year Business Administration program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of administration/accounting-related experience.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programs and systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, data collection, email, and telecommunications.
  • Ability to work independently, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Sensitivity and respect for all cultures and traditions, with knowledge of the culture and traditions of the northern and Indigenous people.
