As a Pediatric Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families within various clinical settings, including the Post Emergency Pediatric Clinic and Ambulatory Care Clinic. Your role will involve managing follow-up consultations and providing care for patients undergoing minor surgical procedures, as well as administering infusions and transfusions.
Key Qualifications

- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- ACLS certification is advantageous
- Preferred: Current PALS certification
- Preferred: Current PEARS certification
- Required: Experience in Pediatric nursing
- Mandatory: Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification
- Preferred: 2-5 years of recent experience in pediatric emergency or clinic settings
- Strong assessment skills for newborns, children, and adults
- Experience in Ambulatory Care, OR nursing, or Emergency nursing is beneficial
- Highly preferred: Minimum of 3 years in an outpatient or clinic environment
- Required: Experience in procedural clinics, including therapeutic phlebotomy
- Proficient in venipuncture and IV administration for both adult and pediatric patients
- Skilled in medication calculation and administration for all age groups
- Ability to support breastfeeding mothers; Breastfeeding Certification 1 & 2 is a plus
- Commitment to Family-Centered Care and ability to collaborate with families
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse healthcare team in a dynamic environment
- Required: Strong public relations and diplomacy skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge of policy and practice standards
- Satisfactory employment and attendance history
- Flexibility for tri-site coverage based on operational requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Additional Information
Work Schedule: Various rotating shifts, subject to operational needs.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.
