Geotechnical Engineering Field Supervisor

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Deliver immediate system-wide response and assistance for incidents related to slope or roadbed failures, debris flows, and other geohazard occurrences by providing engineered, practical solutions to restore operations as needed.
- Travel up to 50% across the CPKC network in Canada and the United States.
- Engage in periodic follow-up field evaluations and conduct annual inspections of rock slopes across the system.
- Coordinate and participate in comprehensive tunnel assessments across the network.
- Oversee and manage contracts for Geotechnical and Slope Stabilization specialists as necessary for the implementation of the rock slope stabilization initiative.
- Contribute to the formulation of single-year and multi-year budget proposals for the management of rock slope and rock/soil tunnel hazards.
- Conduct inspections to gather data and confirm compliance with contractual obligations for Capital or Special Maintenance Authority (SMA) projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical or geological engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience in effectively managing incident response operations.
