Geotechnical Field Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Field Manager to join our team at CP. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering team, you will be responsible for providing real-time system-wide emergent response and support for incidents involving slope/roadbed failures, debris flow/washouts, and other geohazard events.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel up to 50% across the CP network in Canada and US to provide on-site support and expertise.
- Participate in periodic follow-up field inspections and system-wide annual rock slope inspections to ensure the integrity of our geotechnical assets.
- Coordinate and participate in system-wide tunnel inspections to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage contracts for Geotechnical and Slope stabilization specialists as required for the execution of the rock slope stabilization program.
- Develop and manage single-year and multi-year budget requests for the management of rock slope and rock/soil tunnel hazards.
- Perform inspections to collect information and verify contractual requirements for Capital or Special Maintenance Authority (SMA) projects.
Requirements
Education: University undergraduate degree with specialization in Geology, Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
Licensing: Must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of engineering experience in geotechnical or geological engineering.
Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with tactically handling incident response work.
