Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Field Manager to join our team at CP. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and guidance on geotechnical engineering projects across our network in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time support for geotechnical incidents and emergencies, developing and implementing effective solutions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to inspect and assess geotechnical conditions across our network.
  • Participate in regular field inspections and system-wide annual rock slope inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and manage contracts for geotechnical and slope stabilization specialists as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets for geotechnical and rock slope stabilization projects.
  • Perform inspections and verify contractual requirements for Capital or Special Maintenance Authority (SMA) projects.
Requirements
  • University undergraduate degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical or geological engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with incident response and tactical handling.
