Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Field Manager to join our team at CP. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and guidance on geotechnical engineering projects across our network in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time support for geotechnical incidents and emergencies, developing practical solutions to reinstate operations as necessary.
  • Travel up to 50% across our network to conduct site inspections and assessments.
  • Participate in periodic follow-up field inspections and system-wide annual rock slope inspections.
  • Coordinate and participate in system-wide tunnel inspections.
  • Manage contracts for geotechnical and slope stabilization specialists as required for the rock slope stabilization program.
  • Develop and manage budgets for rock slope and rock/soil tunnel hazards.
  • Perform inspections to collect information and verify contractual requirements for Capital or Special Maintenance Authority (SMA) projects.
Requirements
  • University undergraduate degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer/Geoscientist.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical or geological engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with incident response work.
