Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumber and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Everest Drain & Plumbing Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plumbing systems and performing maintenance tasks to prevent downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plumbing System Maintenance: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Tender Preparation: Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects.
  • Apprentice Instruction: Instruct apprentices in plumbing techniques and best practices.
  • Site Preparation: Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Pipe Installation: Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Pipe Joining: Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Scheduling: Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment for plumbing projects.
  • Testing: Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Piping System Design: Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervision: Supervise other workers on plumbing projects.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate costs and materials for plumbing projects.
  • Pipe Measurement: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in plumbing and maintenance.
  • Certifications: Backflow prevention Certification, Plumber Trade Certification, Working at heights training, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Driver's License (Class 3 or D), Plumber Red Seal Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance and bondable.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license and vehicle supplied by employer.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding work environment with bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.
