Job Summary:

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support related to research, planning, implementation, trouble-shooting, and day-to-day operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with outside vendors, IT Project Teams, and other IT department support staff to deliver consistent support and enhancement to corporate IT environments.
  • Establish procedures to ensure that IT changes meet business needs and are of a high quality, work effectively with the Manager - IT Infrastructure to effect change in a controlled technical environment, and be a well-rounded professional, a technically adept team-player, with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, good communication, and customer service skills.
  • Install, maintain, and support all IT infrastructure, including servers and storage, virtualization, databases, backup, replication, datacenter technologies, cloud solutions, telephone, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Work closely with Manager-IT Infrastructure, Manager-IT Application Support, and third-party vendors to deliver robust and scalable infrastructure solutions, improve existing infrastructure capabilities, and review and provide recommendations on new technologies.
  • Run diagnostics, troubleshoot, and test hardware, operating system, and customized software.
  • Analyze and repair Windows and Linux O/S issues.
  • Run regularly, a suite of administrative applications to meet contractual service levels.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call support rotation as required.

Future Planning:

  • Understand key business processes and corporate plans and recommend improvements to the information technology environment to keep pace with industry standard practices and business objectives.
  • Provide input to the planning, design, and implementation of the technical architecture plans.
  • Provide guidance to internal infrastructure projects and other IT support staff.
  • Contribute to, and execute as needed, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Maintain installation, configuration, and design documentation for all infrastructure, software, and operating system environments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's social responsibility mandate.
