Financial Analyst for Commercial Operations

We are seeking a driven Financial Analyst for Commercial Operations to become a part of the Travel Partnerships and Media (TPM) division. TPM plays a vital role in managing Expedia Group's key relationships with leading global airline, lodging, and car rental partners across over 200 countries.

An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the TPM Commercial Finance team, specifically supporting the Trips (Air) segment within TPM. This position is essential and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Commercial Finance. In this capacity, you will serve as a crucial business partner to the team overseeing our significant airline collaborations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in commercial negotiations with airline partners in collaboration with the Air (Growth) Commercial team.
  • Work closely with the business to identify opportunities for enhancing processes, commercial agreements, customer experience, and revenue generation.
  • Share and implement best practices with team members to enhance coordination and communication, contributing to the team's success.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports, variance analyses, trend evaluations, and financial review documents.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and proactively analyze unusual trends or variances.
  • Act as the primary contact for updating and addressing inquiries from stakeholders, ensuring timely responses and thorough investigations.
  • Encourage further analysis and interpretation where necessary.
  • Utilize business intelligence (BI) tools to gain deeper insights into the business.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as requested by business partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, or Audit; Public Accounting experience is advantageous.
  • Strong Excel proficiency: ability to create models, simplify existing formulas, verify data sets for accuracy, and troubleshoot errors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with various management levels.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze large data sets and identify key drivers or unusual variances.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box and identify alternative solutions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and comfort in being a subject matter expert.
  • A relationship-oriented individual, exceptional listener, and team player.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for working in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments.
