Loss Appraiser Specialist

Aviva is seeking a highly skilled Large Loss Appraiser to join our team. As a key member of our Claims Operations department, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing building damages, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate building damages, providing comprehensive estimates and scopes of repairs in accordance with industry standards and Aviva protocols.
- Collaborate with specialists, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective control of building losses, focusing on scope, repair, quality, and customer experience.
- Provide reliable assurance of an effective control environment, ensuring compliance with Aviva protocols and best practices.
- Develop and implement action plans for emergency mitigation, demolition, and structural repairs, working closely with assigned specialists and file handlers.
- Conduct site inspections, monitoring progress and communicating status updates to handling adjusters and other stakeholders.
- Control building-related costs, increasing efficiencies while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging construction practices, standards, and materials, applying this knowledge to ensure accurate and effective assessment and management of building damages.
- Minimum 5 years of residential and commercial appraisal experience in a senior position, with in-depth knowledge of building construction practices.
- Minimum 10 years of Xactimate scoping and estimating experience at a senior level.
- Strong ability to create comprehensive estimates using appropriate software, with a solid understanding of valuation tools and claims adjusting practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to senior management, colleagues, and external partners.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, with a solid understanding of the Water Damage Standards of IICRC S500 and WRT and ASD certifications.
