General Manager Job Description

At In Demand Recruitment & Consulting Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled General Manager to lead our Courtland, ON client's manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-range company strategy, performance goals, and tactical execution of annual business plans.
  • Lead the management team in developing and executing multiple year strategic plans and annual operating plans.
  • Oversee all Compliance, Quality Systems, and maintain manufacturing standards consistent with all certification and re-certification requirements.
  • Participate in the Talent Review process to ensure proper management action is taken to move the organization forward.
  • Support the company's Enterprise Risk Management process and the development of its Long-Term Financial Model.
  • Act as a goodwill ambassador for corporate with the local management team/employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field OR equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • MBA preferred; Direct experience managing a large-scale manufacturing plant may be considered in lieu of MBA.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the areas of Operations, Product Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Materials, Quality Systems, and Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in managing multiple levels of customer relationships in a dealer environment is an asset.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound interpretation of financial documentation and associated analysis.
  • Experience in manufacturing planning and sales cyclicality.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Systems (hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, engines) preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite.
