We are seeking a seasoned Executive Director to lead our Courtland, ON client's operations. Our client is a leading manufacturer of municipal sidewalk tractors, with over 50 years of experience serving Public Works Departments, Parks Departments, Airports, and other organizations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing long-range company strategy, performance goals, and tactical execution of annual business plans.
- Leading the development of multiple year strategic plans and annual operating plans, covering new product development, financial objectives, balance sheets, capital spending, cash flow, and inventory plans.
- Communicating strategy and executing change management when required.
- Serving as the champion of Lean Enterprise and 80/20 initiatives to improve organizational capability, quality, and product performance.
- Overseeing compliance, quality systems, and manufacturing standards consistent with certification and re-certification requirements.
- Participating in supply base integration strategies, including ESG/FSC initiatives.
- Serving as a public spokesperson for the company with customers, dealers, and at public meetings.
- Leading quarterly all-employee meetings to create leadership visibility, ensure organizational alignment, and maintain communication lines.
- Working with HR to ensure annual employee objectives align with the Annual Operation Plan key initiatives.
- Participating in the Talent Review process to ensure proper management action is taken to move the organization forward.
- Supporting the company's Enterprise Risk Management process and the development of its Long-Term Financial Model.
- Supporting Investor Relations initiatives by facilitating plant tours for current or prospective shareholders.
- Spending time with customers and dealers in the field to understand competitive market trends and ensure the company anticipates and leverages shifts in the competitive landscape.
- Acting as a goodwill ambassador for the company with local management teams and employees.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- MBA preferred; direct experience managing a large-scale manufacturing plant may be considered in lieu of an MBA.
- 10-15 years of experience in operations, product engineering, finance, purchasing, materials, quality systems, and human resources in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing multiple levels of customer relationships in a dealer environment is an asset.
- Previous experience in sales, marketing, and/or information technology is preferred.
- Skills and competencies include proficiency in communicating complex information to internal and external stakeholders, ability to demonstrate sound interpretation of financial documentation, experience in manufacturing planning and sales cyclicality, and knowledge of heavy equipment systems.
