Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing service coordination and planning for children and families served by our agency.
Key Responsibilities- Service Coordination and Planning: Act as a focal point for children and families, providing service coordination and planning in cooperation with other agency personnel.
- Documentation and Reporting: Review and analyze Jordan's Principle documentation, develop and submit reports, and track statistical data.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with service teams, external service providers, First Nations, and families served to secure supporting documentation, empower advocacy, and navigate the Jordan's Principle application process.
- Education and Training: Participate in internal and external committees, provide education and information sessions to agency staff, and familiarize yourself with Department of Indigenous Services Canada documentation related to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordan's Principle.
- Education: University degree or college diploma in a field related to Human Services, Education, or Social Work.
- Experience: Minimum of one-year direct service experience with children and families, with a focus on Indigenous child welfare.
- Cultural Competence: Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities, with a strong understanding of Anishinaabe traditions and values.
