Nursing Operations Coordinator

Wetaskiwin, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

Your Opportunity:

As a key member of the Alberta Health Services team, the Nursing Operations Coordinator will oversee site operations during non-standard hours, including weekends. This role encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities, ensuring the hospital runs smoothly.

In the absence of senior management, you will supervise daily operations, address immediate concerns, manage patient flow, and facilitate conflict resolution with a focus on effective, solution-oriented strategies.

You will escalate operational challenges to the appropriate leadership when necessary.

As the primary point of contact for staff and physician incidents, as well as critical patient or facility matters, you will provide essential leadership.

The Nursing Operations Coordinator will also authorize urgent requests for special leaves, overtime, and ensure adequate staffing levels to maintain high-quality, patient-centered care.

Collaboration with Central Zone Staffing and Administration will be essential when required.

Ensuring adherence to performance and safety standards is crucial, and you will take corrective actions as needed, in consultation with the Director and Managers, to uphold operational policies.

Description:

In your role as a Nursing Operations Coordinator, you will manage staff assignments, oversee patient flow, and serve as a clinical resource and advocate for nursing personnel.

Alongside providing direct nursing care when necessary, you will take a proactive leadership stance in promoting quality patient care and executing operational objectives.

Your extensive knowledge, advanced judgment, and clinical expertise will be invaluable in addressing complex healthcare challenges across various levels, including patients, interprofessional teams, administrators, and policymakers.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high-quality, patient and family-centered care, embodying the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
