About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employment and Labour Litigation Specialist to join our team at Kent Legal. As a leading employment and labour law firm representing employers, we are looking for a skilled professional to assist our lawyers in various legal and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to 2-3 lawyers, including drafting and preparing routine correspondence and documents.
  • Assist in preparing briefs and records for trials and hearings, ensuring electronic formatting complies with online court filing system specifications.
  • Draft court and tribunal forms, arrange for the service and filing of all forms, corresponding documents, and pleadings.
  • Communicate effectively with lawyers and clients, monitoring deadlines and sending reminders as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with the firm's practice and file management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, file, and triage lawyers' emails, responding to urgent client matters as directed.
  • Maintain a tickler and bring forward system, enter dockets and expense claims, and organize files to expedite workflow.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment and labour law.
  • Legal Secretarial Diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and an independent thinker.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritizing, and time-management skills.
  • Committed to a team and goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
