Job Summary:
The College of the North Atlantic is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instructional Assistant to support the delivery of instruction and student evaluation in the Mining Engineering Technician Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors with planning, organizing, and managing learning activities, including supporting the delivery of instruction and student evaluation.
- Work closely with students to model appropriate behaviors and be accountable for demonstrating specific skills, tasks, or work practices in a field/laboratory setting.
- Assist instructors with courses that have a field/laboratory component, including identifying equipment needs and being responsible for equipment servicing and maintenance.
- Play a key role in ensuring equipment and supplies are assessed and reordered as required.
- Perform other related duties consistent with maintaining quality student-centered learning.
Requirements:
- Completion of a diploma program in Mining Engineering Technology or Technician from an accredited educational institution.
- Recent, relevant work experience in the mining industry.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Class IV License and provide a recent Certificate of Conduct.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with the College of the North Atlantic Faculty Collective Agreement.
