Job Title: Veterinary Attendant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Attendant to join our team at the Animal Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our animals, ensuring their health and well-being in a fast-paced veterinary clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe and shampoo animals to maintain their cleanliness and hygiene
  • Clip animal coats to ensure their grooming needs are met
  • Document animal behavior to monitor their health and well-being
  • Monitor animal behavior to identify any potential health issues
  • Prepare food and feed animals to meet their dietary needs
  • Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Keep records of animals treated to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals to ensure their health and well-being
  • Supervise helpers to ensure they are meeting the needs of the animals and the clinic
  • Clean animal ears to maintain their health and hygiene
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure the clinic has the necessary resources to care for the animals
  • Clip animal nails to ensure their grooming needs are met
  • Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals to maintain their oral health
Requirements:
  • Veterinary assistant course or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Ability to work as part of a team
