As a Senior Legal Compliance Advisor, you will significantly influence the risk culture and uphold high standards within the department. Your expertise will be essential in proposing strategies that continually improve practices related to client protection in the insurance domain.
You will serve as a specialist on legal and regulatory standards governing the sale and distribution of life and health insurance. Furthermore, you will act as a liaison for compliance and legal matters, both within the organization and with external parties. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with external legal firms and coordinating various strategic initiatives.
Your team consists of experts in regulatory and risk management, and you will report directly to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree relevant to the field with applicable experience
- Active member of a Canadian Bar Association
- In-depth understanding of legal and regulatory standards in life and health insurance
- Experience in insurance or regulatory organizations is advantageous
- Strong analytical capabilities and a solution-focused approach
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Organizational abilities and capacity to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in French is a plus
- Language: English
