Job Summary

Project Controls Planning & Scheduling Specialist

AltaGas is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Planning & Scheduling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project controls group, you will be responsible for providing expert planning and scheduling support to our project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and control project plans, schedules, milestones, and reporting in conformance with project requirements.
  • Prepare Level 1 to Level 3 schedules in a sustaining capital project environment, with a focus on critical path management.
  • Lead and participate in interactive planning sessions, and hold meetings with project managers, estimators, and engineers to review and adjust preliminary schedules.
  • Create and compile schedules for the midstream capital program, adhering to the PDM stage gates.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules for all labor, materials, equipment, and services, from project development through to project closure.
  • Provide project controls support, including project planning, schedule management, evaluating project trends and schedule forecasts.
  • Support project managers in generating weekly and monthly schedule updates.
  • Work with external vendors to obtain timely and accurate construction reporting.
  • Establish a productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, developed in concurrence with Construction.
  • Coach and mentor other planners and schedulers on the team.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of project and/or program planning & scheduling experience for projects or corporate budgets.
  • Experience with planning & scheduling for a midstream company and projects.
  • Knowledge of resourcing and/or project management services and processes.
  • Knowledge of EPCM planning and project reporting.
  • Knowledge of procurement, contracts, and construction management.
  • Experience with scheduling software, including Microsoft Projects and Primavera.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel to project locations within Canada.
