CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
We are currently seeking Sports Instructors:

We invite applicants who can teach a variety of sports such as basketball, badminton, pickleball, volleyball, table tennis, climbing, and ball hockey, among others.

These positions involve part-time shifts during evenings and weekends throughout the year.

As a vital member of our dedicated Sports Instructor team, you will play a key role in enhancing the recreational and cultural experiences of North Vancouver residents through exceptional customer service.

We are particularly interested in instructors who can teach soccer, basketball, badminton, pickleball, tennis, gymnastics, skateboarding, and parkour, among other sports.

Your ability to instruct multiple sports will be a significant advantage.
ABOUT YOU

You are a dynamic and motivated individual available to instruct one or more of our extensive sports programs.

You thrive in a team environment and are dedicated to community engagement. Reliability, responsiveness to customer needs, and strong relationship-building skills are essential attributes.

You are courteous and effective in public interactions, enjoying the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals while providing instruction in a safe and welcoming manner.

Your responsibilities will include lesson planning and delivering high-quality instruction to participants of all ages, including children, youth, adults, and seniors.

As a sport instructor, you will promote the principles of physical literacy and integrate the development of fundamental movement skills into each session.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be at least 16 years old, possess an athletic aptitude, and have some experience in planning and leading programs.

A current Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent 8-hour course is mandatory. HIGH FIVE certification (available online through BCRPA) must be obtained within three months of employment.

All employees should be prepared to work at various North Vancouver Recreation & Culture locations. A Police Information Check is required as a condition of employment. The compensation for this casual role ranges from $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on training and experience. Availability for varying hours based on program needs is expected.
