Powerline Technician Journeyman and Apprentice

Position Summary: Valard Construction LP is actively seeking skilled Distribution Journeyman and Apprentice Powerline Technicians to enhance our workforce. We are in search of motivated, collaborative individuals who are eager to contribute to a dynamic team that plays a vital role in supporting Valard's projects across Saskatchewan, working on a 10/4 shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and uphold wooden or concrete poles and guy wires.
- Install, maintain, and repair both overhead and underground power lines and cables, including insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and other related equipment.
- Operate switches and install grounding devices for lines and equipment.
- Experience in high-tension stringing activities is advantageous.
- Guide, mentor, and instruct junior staff and apprentices in their duties, safe work practices, and the proper use of tools and equipment in a respectful and positive manner.
- Perform all other related tasks as assigned by the Foreman or a senior member of the Valard team.
- Possess knowledge and skills in the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution power systems, with the ability to adhere to instructions and procedures.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician Certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution.
- A Class 1 or 3 driver's license is a plus.
- Rubber Glove Training is beneficial.
- Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) certification is an asset.
