Valard Group of Companies: Powerline Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Powerline Technician to join our team at Valard Group of Companies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for erecting and maintaining wood or concrete poles, and guy wires, as well as installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines and cables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Erect and maintain wood or concrete poles, and guy wires
  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and other associated equipment
  • Open and close switches and install grounding devices to lines and equipment
  • Instruct, mentor, and train junior personnel and apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care, and use of tools and equipment
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Foreman or Senior Valard Team member

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years distribution experience
  • Class 1 or 3 driver's license is considered an asset
  • Rubber Glove Training is considered an asset
  • Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) is considered an asset
