Valard Construction LP is a leading provider of utility construction and maintenance services across Canada. We are part of the Valard Group of Companies, which is itself a subsidiary of Quanta Services, the largest electrical power contractor in North America.

We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated Distribution Journeyman and Apprentice Powerline Technicians to join our team in Saskatchewan. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Erect and maintain power poles, guy wires, and related structures.
  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines, cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting, and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform tasks such as opening and closing switches and installing grounding devices on lines and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior personnel and apprentices in safe work practices, tool usage, and equipment operation.
  • Contribute to the overall success of projects by adhering to instructions, procedures, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Red Seal Journeyman Powerline Technician Certificate.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in distribution power systems construction, maintenance, and repair.
  • Hold a valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license (an asset).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in rubber glove training (an asset).
  • Possess Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) certification (an asset).
