The Legal Assistant role at Linds & Associates involves providing essential support in the realm of litigation. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of one year of relevant experience, showcasing their expertise in legal administrative functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Document Preparation: Assist in the creation and organization of litigation materials, including affidavits, notices, motion records, factums, and authoritative books.
- Communication Management: Oversee interactions with process servers to ensure timely service and filing of court documents.
- Court Coordination: Work closely with court offices to manage trial and motion bookings, as well as the filing of related materials.
- Drafting and Editing: Skillfully compose and refine various correspondences and documents, such as memos, letters, emails, reports, presentations, court forms, and legal documentation.
- Administrative Support: Aid in the operational management of lawyers' practices, including file management, meeting organization, and travel arrangements.
- Financial Coordination: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance, including docket entries, client list updates, billing processes, expense management, and invoice handling, adhering to firm accounting standards.
- Quality Assurance: Utilize proofreading and editing capabilities to ensure all work products are accurate, complete, and properly formatted, with a focus on spelling and grammar.
- Liaison Role: Act as a communication bridge between lawyers and both internal and external parties, facilitating updates on file progress and related issues.
- File Management: Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for client documentation.
Candidates should possess:
- Post-secondary education in legal administration or a related field, accompanied by at least one year of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as court practices and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective prioritization skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to professionalism and confidentiality in all dealings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
