We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators, including processing new referrals and orders for services, supplies, and equipment.
- Process and assist in managing confidential patient records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Enter, update, and maintain a high volume of patient data in our electronic database, utilizing your proficiency in database software.
- Answer a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, providing timely and effective support.
- Provide back-up support to other positions as required, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability.
- A college diploma in the health or social services, or business/office administration.
- 2+ years' related office experience, with a strong background in healthcare administration.
- Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to meet organizational needs.
