Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fashion Designer to join our team in Montreal. As a Fashion Designer, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator, creating styles/tech packs in FLEX/PLM with detailed sketches, and maintaining and updating tech packs and recaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator
  • Create styles/tech packs in FLEX/PLM with detailed sketches
  • Maintain and update tech packs and recaps
  • Color sketches and prepare design boards for presentations to clients
  • Work on proto comments, fabric/lab dips approval
  • Assist the lead designer and the team in all related tasks
  • Participate in the search for trends and help with creating new style & mood boards
  • Attend fitting sessions with the technical team
  • Prepare samples for buyer meetings
  • Communicate with design, graphic design, and production teams
  • Keep documents and work files up to date
  • Work closely with the production team
  • Follow-up with graphic designers of seasonal catalogs
  • Daily communication with suppliers on samples
  • Classify and organize samples
  • Send / receive / and follow up on parcels to suppliers or customers
  • Document all information about the samples (number of samples received, where samples are sent, etc.)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of fashion design experience are required
  • Ideal candidate has Women's/Men's Sportswear experience
  • Experience in sweaters, knits and wovens is an asset
  • Proactive attitude; Resourceful, Responsible
  • Highly motivated, Creative and Enthusiastic
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Diploma in fashion design completed is required
  • Technical skills with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel and Word drawing program are required
  • Experience using the FLEX/PLM system is an asset
  • Experience creating technical drawings and the construction of the garment
