Operations Supervisor Job Description

Are you a motivated and results-driven leader looking to make a meaningful impact in the equipment rental industry? We're seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our team at United Rentals of Canada, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Branch Manager in achieving financial objectives by implementing effective strategies and coaching staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and drive branch metrics by monitoring scorecard items and providing coaching and feedback to staff.
  • Maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring staff is trained and compliant with the Rental Flow Process, and drive profitability by monitoring and controlling costs.
  • Motivate, coach, and train personnel to promote a culture of safety and discipline.
  • Perform day-to-day operational activities, including opening and closing, cash drawer reconciliation, and bank deposit.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales and operational experience.
  • Supervision and leadership experience (2+ years) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the construction rental equipment industry or related.
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable record.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
