  • Establish strong working relationships with internal and external partners, identifying communication needs and addressing any arising issues.
  • Engage in all phases of communication projects, from initial briefings to project launches, while supporting team members in executing the briefs.
In your second year, you will:
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor, proactively addressing the communication needs of business partners.
  • Drive the success of communication campaigns and projects, enhancing FortisBC's brand perception by assessing outcomes and identifying improvement areas.
  • Offer experience-based, judgment-driven guidance to leaders and employees, helping business units achieve their communication goals.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking abilities, focusing on utilizing data (e.g., research, existing materials, media scans, partner insights) to identify communication opportunities and develop comprehensive briefs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to identify communication needs and develop unified strategies that align with overall objectives.
  • Proven adaptability and flexibility, capable of managing a high volume of work and responding to changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

This role offers the option to participate in a flexible work program, allowing you to work from an approved location in British Columbia for a portion of the year, subject to operational needs.

Our dynamic workplace provides a variety of challenging opportunities in a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package while supporting ongoing career development. We also encourage community involvement and value the importance of giving back.
