Leader Patient Flow Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leader Patient Flow Operations to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. Reporting to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager, this role is responsible for the Nursing Administration and coordination of safe, efficient patient care services within the facility. The successful candidate will ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet patient census and supervise nursing staff, coordinating all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration.
The Leader Patient Flow Operations will work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nursing, preferably with a minimum of three years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of nursing management experience, with a strong focus on leadership, planning, organization, and time management skills. The ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations in dealing with patients, visitors, and other health professionals is essential.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to match utilization needs to resources available, as well as the ability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and stretching. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Shifts will include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The hourly rate is $53.34, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
