About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Leader Patient Flow Operations to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. Reporting to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager, this role is responsible for the Nursing Administration and coordination of safe, efficient patient care services within the facility. The successful candidate will ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet patient census and supervise nursing staff, coordinating all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration.

The Leader Patient Flow Operations will work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in nursing, preferably with a minimum of three years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of nursing management experience, with a strong focus on leadership, planning, organization, and time management skills. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing are required. BCLS certification is mandatory, and ACLS is an asset.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote and maintain good relationships with patients, visitors, and other health professionals. They will also have the ability to match utilization needs to resources available and perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and stretching.

Hours and Compensation

This is a casual relief position, with a competitive hourly rate of $53.34. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
