Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for steering the strategic direction of our Research and Development (R&D) initiatives, overseeing the creation of new Building Management System (BMS) products and solutions, and ensuring the effective execution of R&D projects. Specific duties include:
- Formulating and implementing the company's overarching R&D strategy to foster innovation and product development in Building Automation Systems.
- Leading and mentoring a skilled team of engineers, software developers, and researchers to promote excellence and innovation in R&D efforts.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, to align R&D initiatives with business goals and market demands.
- Supervising the design, development, and testing of new BMS products, software applications, and technologies to fulfill customer needs and market expectations.
- Driving continuous improvement and optimization of R&D processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
- Cultivating a culture of creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence within the R&D division.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments related to Building Automation Systems to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with industry organizations, technology vendors, and academic institutions to enhance R&D capabilities and resource access.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in all R&D activities.
- Providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, milestones, and outcomes of R&D initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in R&D leadership roles within the building automation, controls, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing R&D teams to deliver innovative products and solutions.
- Strong technical expertise in building automation systems, controls, software development, and related technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Valid passport for travel.
