Job Summary

The Community & Education Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting the mission of Canada Lands Company by building strong community relationships and promoting the Downsview Park Hub. This position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, facilitating the use of the Hub, and assisting with community events and programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of community outreach initiatives to promote the Downsview Park Hub and enhance community engagement.
  • Provide customer service to groups and individuals using the Hub, including assistance with setup and cleanup, and other related duties.
  • Monitor and track Hub usage, identifying opportunities to improve the community space and enhance user experience.
  • Assist with Downsview Park community events, including setup, staffing, and coordination.
  • Support volunteers through Park Ambassador shifts and provide opportunities for skill development and growth.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to support programming and events, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the mission and objectives of Canada Lands Company.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of customer service experience, preferably in a community outreach or program delivery role.
  • Bilingualism (French/English, or other language of the community) is considered an asset.
  • Community outreach, program delivery, and/or camp experience would be considered an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads.
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity requiring extended periods of standing, moderate lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including in-office, in-classroom, and outdoors.
