We are currently seeking full-time Practical Nursing Specialists to become integral members of our Hospice Nursing Care team. Our Practical Nursing Specialists will play a crucial role in developing and implementing personalized care strategies for our residents, ensuring that the highest standards of care are consistently upheld. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Practical Nurse with a collaborative spirit and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding support to seniors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive care strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of residents, regularly assessing their effectiveness.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for both residents and colleagues.
  • Engage in collaborative decision-making regarding health and safety, resident care, and staffing matters.
  • Monitor changes in care requirements and adjust routines accordingly to ensure residents' needs are met.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members involved in resident care, promoting innovative practices.
  • Participate in direct nursing duties, including medication administration and medical procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Work in conjunction with Registered Nurses as necessary to ensure optimal care delivery.
  • Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Uphold residents' rights to privacy, dignity, and respect at all times.
  • Review and implement care-related policies and procedures, seeking guidance from RN colleagues when needed.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing Program with current certification.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Familiarity with social care models is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of MDS/InterRAI systems.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement practices, emergency protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including extended periods of mobility.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks safely and effectively.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check for Vulnerable Sector.
  • Current TB Screening and Immunization Record.
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
