About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Control Supervisor to join our team at Rona Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a high-performance team of coordinators and cycle counters to ensure accuracy and efficiency in our regional distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Coach and supervise the Inventory Control team to ensure its development and success.
  • Inventory Management: Support the creation, monitoring, and reporting of the inventory loss budget, determine inventory gains and losses in monetary value, and communicate them to regional management.
  • Transaction Management: Manage all inventory transactions regarding damages, overages, and purchase order transfers, processing, and closing.
  • Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve all store inventory claims and investigate and manage store credits.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Determine the root causes of inventory discrepancies and develop corrective measures with the Operations team.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create, review, and reconcile reports on timing, inventory accuracy, periodic counts, financial inventory account, warehouse management systems, facility utilization.
  • Supplier Management: Investigate chargebacks of supplier accounts payable regarding inventory.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Organize inventory maintenance counts upon request.
  • Reconciliation: Review and approve reconciliations based on discrepancies of cycle counts.
  • Inventory Layout: Supervise the inventory layout.
  • Team Performance: Ensure the performance and accuracy of the work of the Inventory Control team.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee other processes for quality purposes and ensure quality is maintained.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory position in an inventory control-related function within a distribution environment.
  • Inventory Experience: 5-7 years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) (required); experience with Blue Yonder (a strong asset).
  • Education: Post-secondary training (business administration or supply chain management) an asset, or equivalent experience.
  • Soft Skills: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Access/Excel; ability to multitask and handle changes well; proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among peers.
