Accounting Manager Job Description

Spark Power is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Canada Technical Services. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing full cycle accounting and reporting duties, including month-end/year-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the month-end/year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  • Supervise and train a team of 4 direct reports, reviewing individual performance and identifying training needs.
  • Develop procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Participate in planning and forecasting for Canada Technical Services, including developing a robust rolling forecast.
  • Assist with audits and taxes as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of general accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting and Professional accounting designation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to execute and deliver results within tight timelines.
